Dear Small Pawsers,

We aren’t halfway there yet for precious little Bella, in Forth Worth, Texas.

Her vetting will be $3600.00.

See the estimate below.

We have two new Matching Donation Challenges.

What is a Matching Challenge?

First, from Judy DeAngelis at judyadea@gmail.com, we have this very generous challenge for $500.00!

Thank you so very much, Judy! Is there anyone who can match Judy?

“Hi Robin,

Bella is so sweet and needs SPR to help her get better so she can get a new home. She has had it rough and I hope we can raise the funds to help this sweet girl. You can see her eyes tell the story of how she wants to get well and have a new family that loves her.

I will issue a matching challenge of $500 to help this girl.

Hugs, Judy DeAngelis”

And from long time Small Pawser, Deborah Berger, at normetski@aol.com, we have this challenge for $100.00. Though Boris has been in Heaven for a while now, Deborah will always be known as “Boris’ Mom”.

Thank you so much Deborah!

“Hi Robin,

Please issue a $100 challenge from me!

Thank you

Bella is so deserving. She once knew love, and lost it. We don’t know what happened or why.

I hope that some of you may be able to match one of these challenges, for this heartbroken little girl.

All My Love, Robin

Wednesday Evening October 16, 2024

Dear Small Pawsers,

Today, we’ve raised $685.00 for our Beautiful Bella, near Ft. Worth, Texas.

We need around $3600.00 for her medical care.

And we may have a Foster Home in Ft. Worth with a Bichon Mom! We are working on this!

This is the estimate we have for her, not counting a Cardia Workout which will add between $1000-$1200.

Estimate for between Low Total: $2,318.90 High Total: $2,418.90.

See her story below.

We have only one Matching Challenge for $250.00.

It’s from Toni Wagner at  toni.wagner@yahoo.com

“Dear Robin,

This precious baby I wish I was closer to hold her and keep her safe and warm. It brings tears to see a pup in this condition. I’m so thankful we have her now. Bella what a beautiful name she has. Please issue a challenge for $250.00 for our newest family member.

Blessings and hope Toni Wagner”

Is there anyone who is blessed enough to match Toni for little Bella?

We have some new pictures and a short video. I think there are a group of techs at the vet clinic who are having way to much fun with our new little girl!

This is a short video of Bella enjoying a Popsickle!

So that’s where we are. We are about $3000.00 short for what is needed for little Bella. Our new little beauty!

I’m praying that funds for Bella will come in!

All My Love, Robin

Dear Small Pawsers,

I just need to come to you and tell you the story.

It’s what I have done for over 26 years, now.

I come and tell you what is happening at

Small Paws® Rescue.

It’s a story as old as time, about love, and love lost.

When I first learned about her, it was from long time North Texas Volunteers, Vicki Taylor and Cindy Carroll, near Fort Worth, Texas.

There was a little white dog in the shelter in Fort Worth.

They said she was 6-8 years old and healthy. (That’s not quite correct.)

This may be shocking to see, but please know that once, she was loved.

Bella’s shelter intake picture. I named her “Bella” because she deserves a beautiful name.

“The name Bella is a feminine name that means “beautiful” in several languages, including Italian, Spanish, Greek, Portuguese, and Latin.”

Bella was picked up by the shelter on Monday, by Roger, Cindy Carroll’s husband, my HERO. As you can see, after her mats were shaved off, she is emaciated. She was given a body score of only 2/9.

You can see how thin she is here.

It was sad to see a little girl in a shelter in this poor shape.

But after she arrived at our vet, Roanoke Animal Hospital, in Roanoke, Texas, we learned the rest of the story.

You see, Bella was missing one of her big teeth. A three root molar in the back.

These teeth don’t fall out. They are usually removed by a Veterinarian during a dental.

Dentals are not inexpensive.

At one time, Bella was loved and wanted.

We don’t know what happened.

After our vet examined her, it was discovered that she is probably 10 years old.

Though the shelter vet missed it, out vet did not.

It was discovered that Bella has a grade 3/5 Heart Murmur.

It’s not the kind of Heart Murmur that we can surgically repair.

It’s an age related Heart Murmur.

We’ve started her on Vetmedin.

“Vetmedin® is a treatment for dogs with heart disease. It acts in two ways: To open up the blood vessels carrying blood to and from the heart, which reduces the work your dog’s heart has to do to pump blood around their body. To increase the strength and efficiency of your dog’s heartbeat, improving the pumping action.”

This is the estimate for our girl, BEFORE it was discovered that she has a Heart Murmur.

Estimate for between Low Total: $2,318.90 High Total: $2,418.90.

Now that we know about her heart murmur, she also needs to see a Cardiologist to have an Echo Cardiogram done.

The cost for a Cardio work up, in the Dallas Fort Worth area, including an Echo, will run $1000-$1200.

So we need to raise a little over $3600.00 for our beloved Bella.

And we need a Foster Home within driving distance of Fort Worth Texas. She is not able to fly.

Man, monkey, or mouse, 10 years old with a heart murmur or not, Bella is ours now, and we need to take care of her.

If you can offer a Foster Home, she will be ready for Foster Care in about a week

I’m here and will issue all matching challenges for this precious little girl.

What is a Matching Challenge?

“Memory”

Listen on YouTube

Midnight, not a sound from the pavement

Has the moon lost her memory?

She is smiling alone

In the lamplight, the withered leaves collect at my feet

And the wind begins to moan

Memory, all alone in the moonlight

I can dream of the old days

Life was beautiful then

I remember the time I knew what happiness was

Let the memory live again

Every street lamp seems to beat

A fatalistic warning

Someone mutters and the street lamp sputters

And soon it will be morning

Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise

I must think of a new life

And I mustn’t give in

When the dawn comes, tonight will be a memory too

And a new day will begin

Burnt out ends of smoky days

The stale, cold smell of morning

A street lamp dies, another night is over

Another day is dawning

Touch me, it’s so easy to leave me

All alone with the memory

Of my days in the sun

If you touch me, you’ll understand what happiness is

Look, a new day has begun.
