Dear Small Pawsers,

As you know, we recently rescued our darling little Bella from the Fort Worth Texas shelter.

The shelter said she was from 6-8 years old and healthy.

In reality, she is 10-12 years old with a heart murmur.

She was doing well until this morning, and tonight, she is at the Animal Emergency Hospital in Grapevine, Texas.

This is Bella at the Emergency Room, tonight.

This is a letter from Dr. Stickney, Bella’s vet. (I told her I would be sending it out to all of you.)

From Dr. Stickney

Over the years, we have prayed for some really bad cases.

The Dogtors have told us there is no other explanation for recoveries, but for prayer.

I don’t know God’s plan for Bella.

But, just like for each one of you, if you never hear anything else that I type, He has a plan.

Tonight, we have Bella at The Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas.

We have used them several times and this is a good hospital.

I have given them a $2000.00 deposit to try to pull her through tonight.

Now once they are in congestive heart failure, they are always in congestive heart failure, BUT, we have seen dogs live for quite some time in congestive heart failure with meds.

We have also seen them go to Jesus.

It’s so unpredictable.

We can promise you this.

If they call me and non of the treatments are working, and she is struggling to breathe, we will not let her suffer.

Bella didn’t deserve to be left alone and sick in a shelter.

We will do everything that we can for her tonight.

I will give you an update as soon as we know something.

Please know that Jesus loves Bella.

And He loves YOU, more than Anyone ever has, and more than Anyone ever will.

All My Love, Robin

Bella’s shelter intake picture. I named her “Bella” because she deserves a beautiful name.

“The name Bella is a feminine name that means “beautiful” in several languages, including Italian, Spanish, Greek, Portuguese, and Latin.”

Bella was picked up by the shelter on Monday, by Roger, Cindy Carroll’s husband, my HERO. As you can see, after her mats were shaved off, she is emaciated. She was given a body score of only 2/9.

It was sad to see a little girl in a shelter in this poor shape.

But after she arrived at our vet, Roanoke Animal Hospital, in Roanoke, Texas, we learned the rest of the story.

You see, Bella was missing one of her big teeth. A three root molar in the back.

These teeth don’t fall out. They are usually removed by a Veterinarian during a dental.

Dentals are not inexpensive.

At one time, Bella was loved and wanted.

We don’t know what happened.

After our vet examined her, it was discovered that she is probably 10 years old.

Though the shelter vet missed it, out vet did not.

It was discovered that Bella has a grade 3/5 Heart Murmur.

It’s not the kind of Heart Murmur that we can surgically repair.

It’s an age related Heart Murmur.

We’ve started her on Vetmedin.

“Vetmedin® is a treatment for dogs with heart disease. It acts in two ways: To open up the blood vessels carrying blood to and from the heart, which reduces the work your dog’s heart has to do to pump blood around their body. To increase the strength and efficiency of your dog’s heartbeat, improving the pumping action.”

This is the estimate for our girl, BEFORE it was discovered that she has a Heart Murmur.

Estimate for between Low Total: $2,318.90 High Total: $2,418.90.

Now that we know about her heart murmur, she also needs to see a Cardiologist to have an Echo Cardiogram done.

The cost for a Cardio work up, in the Dallas Fort Worth area, including an Echo, will run $1000-$1200.

So we need to raise a little over $3600.00 for our beloved Bella.

And we need a Foster Home within driving distance of Fort Worth Texas. She is not able to fly.

Man, monkey, or mouse, 10 years old with a heart murmur or not, Bella is ours now, and we need to take care of her.

If you can offer a Foster Home, she will be ready for Foster Care in about a week

I’m here and will issue all matching challenges for this precious little girl.

What is a Matching Challenge?

All My Love, Robin

“Memory”

Listen on YouTube

Midnight, not a sound from the pavement

Has the moon lost her memory?

She is smiling alone

In the lamplight, the withered leaves collect at my feet

And the wind begins to moan

Memory, all alone in the moonlight

I can dream of the old days

Life was beautiful then

I remember the time I knew what happiness was

Let the memory live again

Every street lamp seems to beat

A fatalistic warning

Someone mutters and the street lamp sputters

And soon it will be morning

Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise

I must think of a new life

And I mustn’t give in

When the dawn comes, tonight will be a memory too

And a new day will begin

Burnt out ends of smoky days

The stale, cold smell of morning

A street lamp dies, another night is over

Another day is dawning

Touch me, it’s so easy to leave me

All alone with the memory

Of my days in the sun

If you touch me, you’ll understand what happiness is

Look, a new day has begun.
