Dear Small Pawsers,

First of all, thank you ALL, who donated or prayed for our little Presley, in Arizona!

He had a torn CCL, which is like a torn ACL in humans. Ouch!

Dr. Diego Florez, DVM. our long time veterinarian there, did his surgery!

Presley is doing wonderfully!

Look at that smile! Presley says THANK YOU for getting him out of pain! And he’s putting his full weight on that leg, now!

This is the scar from his surgery. His foster Mom, long Time Small Paws® Volunteer, Doris Garrison, says,

“Presley’s checkup went well. He’s walking full weight on his leg so Dr. Florez said I could start walking him again. Dr Florez wants to see him again in 3 weeks.”

Thank you Doris and thanks to everyone for helping Presley!

Next, this poor little Bichon really needed us.

We have named him “Griffy” and he came to us from a shelter near Chicago in deplorable condition. Matts and dreadlocks. Poor baby! He’s around 5-6 years old.

After a bath, we can see he’s a white Bichon! But he is covered in matts and will need to be shaved. 🙁

And how darling is this next baby girl? Meet 5 year old “Emmie”, also from a shelter near Chicago.

Notice the bandage on her leg and the cone she’s wearing.

She came in with a deep laceration to her tail and back leg. We won’t know what happened.

We DO know that thanks to Lauren Throm, a Member of our Board of Trustees, and to her precious son, Jackson, little Emmie doesn’t have to worry ever again.

She is safe in the arms of Small Paws® Rescue!

Lastly, and personal, my husband Dale and I are asking for prayer again.

As you know, on July 10, he had a huge benign grade 1 meningioma removed.

They got it all and told us that it went well.

He came home for a week.

Then, he had to be re-hospitalized for six days, due to what we now believe was a side effect to the drug “Keppra”. It’s an anti-convulsant that they give after brain surgery.

It did NOT like Dale.

It was Your’s Truly who figured out why he was suddenly weak and couldn’t walk or sit up.

These were all listed side effects.

So after clearing it with his doctors, we stopped that drug, and guess what?

He is back up and moving pretty normally!

But then we got a phone call from the surgeon’s office.

They said there were some cysts inside the tumor and they just didn’t look right to pathology.

So they sent these to a second pathologist and told me that it could be one of three things.

They said it could be lymphoma, or a precursor to lymphoma, or it could be nothing.

Either way, the surgeon only does brain surgery, so they have sent Dale to see an Oncologist.

Tomorrow, we will find out what it is.

I’m asking all of you to please pray for us.

You never know when a sudden health emergency can happened.

It happened to us.

But we know that the Lord goes before us to make our path straight.

And we know that He loves EACH one of you!

And He loves each one of these little dogs that bless our lives, so.

Thank you for praying for Dale and I. I will let you know what we learn, tomorrow.

All My Love, Robin

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to Him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” – Deuteronomy 31:6-8”
