Dear Small Pawsers,

One of our Foster Dogs has some serious things going on, medically.

Back in late February, we took in an Owner Surrender Bichon in Texas.

Her owner had passed away and her adult Granddaughter was the one trying to find a rescue for little Cassie.

This is little Cassie. She is 8 years old and is being fostered with long time Small Paws® Rescue Foster Mom, Sheri Pizitz, in Dallas.

She’s just plain cute! And she has a darling personality.

Unfortunately, she has some medical issues that need to be addressed before she can be adopted.

She needs the normal things. Vaccinations, Heart Worm Test, Teeth Cleaning, ( And yes they said she would lose some bad teeth) and she may also have an urinary issue.

We are testing for all of those things, but she also has a tennis ball size lipoma on her chest as well as an umbilical hernia from where she was spayed before we got her.

The lipoma on her chest is large. It needs to be removed so it doesn’t grow and interfere with her breathing.

The hernia needs to be surgically repaired.

This is the estimate from City Vet Preston Forest.

And today, her exam with all of the urinary issues, heartworm tests, vaccinations, ect, it was $753.49. She MAY have Cushing’s Disease and before they do the big Dexamethasone Suppression Test, they are doing some other urinary test. We also need to make sure she doesn’t have bladder stones.

So all together, we need $3,303.25 for Cassie.

We are working on an application for adoption for Cassie. But we can’t send her to a new home with all of these issues.

Our reputation precedes itself. We are known for the medical care we give to each one of our rescues.

Because it’s just the right thing to do.

Help is needed. I’m here and will issue all Matching Donation Challenges!

What is a Matching Donation Challenge?
