Dear Small Paws Family,
I’m in Oklahoma City this morning. I drove down yesterday to spend some girl time with my sister friend and fellow Small Pawser, Barbe Von Netzer and stay the night at her house.
I awoke this morning to a text written at 4:45 a.m. from Jody Ferraro, (email@example.com) our Online Auction Webmistress, that simply said “Steve passed away this morning.”
They have been married for only 13 years. Jody’s picture is the bride on our home page in the scrolling slides, the one with her heart Bichon, Brocco, in the wedding.
Jody is one of our Team Leaders as well.
We are very close and she has asked me to speak at Steve’s funeral mass.
I am trying to see if anyone of you has airline mileage where they could donate a round trip airline ticket from Tulsa, Oklahoma to HPN, (Westchester County New York), for either Tuesday or Wednesday. They want to have the service before Thanksgiving.
I just spoke with Jody and while she is making funeral plans and writing her husband’s obituary, she told me to keep the Auction going. That “The show must go on.”
I’m not kidding.
She said she needs to have the auction to work on during these next days. She is alone. So while I try to get a flight I will ask you, for Jody, to please bid on something at the auction This is her wish from us right now.
If you think you can help me to get there, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jody, we love you. We loved Steve. We are praying for you. I’m trying to get there. Robin

When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco’s “Humphrey”, I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
