Greetings from Joplin, Mo. I’m here in a hotel tonight, because one of my life long friend’s husband has ALS and he isn’t doing so well.
Besides being lifelong friends of Dale and I, at one time, before Gene became ill, they were Small Pawsers. They adopted a Bichon and named him “Nick”, in honor of my heart dog, Nicholas.
Their “Nick” lived to be 15 years old.
Many of you met them at the 2018 Okie Bash.
Their daughter is expecting in February, but they are having the baby shower early, so that’s another reason I’m talking to you from a hotel room, while Dale holds down the fort of four dogs and one very spoiled canary named “Allegro”.
I know it’s a lot to ask, asking for donated items for our auction, but it’s for the Bichons in need.
We’ve taken several in lately and they do need our help.
Our Online Holiday Auction raises about $14,000 each November.
It’s the night before the auction and all through the house, we are 50 items short.
When you guys donate an item, Jody Ferraro approves them, edits the pictures to fit, and make sure we know which item came from whom.
She is willing to stay up all night tonight if 50 more items come in , in time to begin this auction on time.
Is anyone still awake?
Please pray for my friends, Gene and Waynette, as they fight this horrible beast of ALS.
And please help us to fight to save the lives of these Bichons who through some miracle of God, find their way to us. I, personally, thank you in advance. All My Love, Robin

When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco’s “Humphrey”, I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
