It’s Monday and It’s Christmastime. Many Of Us Are Away. $1000.00, $500.00, $250.00, and $100.00 Matching Donation Challenges For Our Little Christmas “Elf” Who Was Thrown From A Moving Car. Surgery Needed!

Monday Night, December 16, 2019

Gem Of The Day: STILL No Time For A Gem Of The Day. We Have A Medical Emergency. A Bichon Was Thrown From A Car In Chicago. A Witness Brought Him To the CACC Shelter. We now understand he has a broken hip and broken pelvic bone and they are evaluated him for a broken left pelvic limb as well. He needs surgery NOW. Help is needed. I received a PDF file with an estimate for between $7000-$8000. And you know if the high end is $8000.00 it will be probably $8500. It may be later tonight when they do surgery. They are working him in. They do tell me he IS fixable.

We have the following matching donation challenges for this little Elf who has a broken hip and broken pelvic bone or a broken leg.

First, from Mike and Cindy Bush, at mbush@flash.net, we have this generous challenge for $1000.00. Is there anyone who is blessed enough to match this challenge? We would be a fourth of the way there! Thank you Mike and Cindy!

Hello Robin: Thank God there was someone to rescue him. Animal abuse is now a Federal Felony. I wish the monster who did this could be found.
I will issue a $500.00 challenge for our new little boy.
I hope someone will match me soon.
Merry Christmas, Dawn

Next, from Tana Kearns, we have another challenge for $500.00 for little Elf. Thank you so much Tana. I pray someone can match you.

I’ll never, ever understand human cruelty. Bless Elf’s heart; thank goodness he’s alive and safe now. I’ll be glad to issue a matching challenge, he’s only a baby at 3 years old. Hoping the Christmas spirit of giving will help to make him whole again.

Tana Kearns

And from Ardys Adams at ardys@ardysadams.com, a Charter Member from day one, back in 1998, we have challenge for $500.00! Thank you Ardys! I hope someone can match you for Elf!

Next, from Jane Robinson, at janemk@cox.net, we have this generous challenge for $250.00. And it comes with a memory of eight years ago, at Christmas Time. Thank you Jane, and hugs to Miracle!

“OMG another Miracle. How can I not donate. Many people donated to save Miracle 8 years ago when the same thing happened to her and she is just the best little girl you could ask for. I pray that Elf will have the same outcome and go on to give joy to his new human parents. Please issue a matching challenge for anyone who’s adopted dog was saved by Small Paws.”

And we have another $250.00 challenge from a first time challenger to the newsletter, Beverly Seffel at beverlyseffel@yahoo.com.

Can we ask all our members to post on there Facebook with a link directly to us and a link to vet for those who don’t care about tax deductions. https://smallpawsrescue.org/dec1619/)
Let’s get busy and see how much we can raise and how much is left. I’m going to send out emails and put on Facebook. Please issue a challenge for $250.00 and I hope someone from Small Paws will match it.
(From Robin: Beverly and Joel have been with Small Paws only a few months, but they helped me so very much with the Okie Bash. She gives me encouragement daily, and I am so thankful to call her my friend. I hope someone can match Beverly for $250.00! Thank you Beverly and Joel for issuing a challenge!)

Next, from Claudia Black at CABRABJR@ATT.NET, we have this matching challenge for $100.00. Is there anyone who can match Claudia?

December 16, 2019

Three year old “Elf” was THROWN FROM A MOVING CAR on a busy city street in Chicago.

He had a microchip but the owners chose to surrender him to the shelter a few minutes ago.

He has a new name and a new life now that he has found his way to Small Paws Rescue and you.

No, We don’t know who threw him from the car. The witness was probably more interested in saving his life than getting the license tag. I know I would be.

He is NOT incontinent, both ways, thank God!

He is ours now and he needs immediate surgery. Help is needed to save him. He is presently at Medvet Chicago.  The surgeon is on stand by.

They have given an estimate of between $7000.00 and $8000.00 which includes a 10% rescue discount. These orthopedic surgeries are not inexpensive, but he is only three years old!

I’m here and will issue all matching challenges but we are in a hurry!

A precious Christmas Elf is broken and needs to be put back together! All My Love, Robin

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006 Pet Loss Link

When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco’s “Humphrey”, I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
