Danbury Mint Bichon items!

Hi Everyone,

For those who may be new and don’t know, this is Robin Pressnall typing to you from my back porch in “Green Country” in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I’m the Executive Director of Small Paws® Rescue.

I’m also known as the crazy, Bichon obsessed, blue-eyed 64 year old blonde woman who has taken you with her on some pretty exciting adventures over the last 23 years. (Some fully dressed, some in my black nightgown, but I digress.)

I wanted to let everyone know a couple of things about why we have two Online Auctions each year.

I’m sure many of you have noticed that Veterinary costs are skyrocketing, due to the pandemic of 2020.

Why is the Cost of Veterinary Care Skyrocketing?

Just the cost of quarantine boarding, after we rescue a Bichon from a shelter, to keep them from taking shelter diseases home to our Foster Parent’s own dogs, is costing an average of $50.00 per night in many places across the country. We quarantine for 10 days, for safety.

So we hold two online auctions a year hoping to try to keep up with rising costs.

Jody Ferraro at jlaferr@aol.com has put in literally hundreds of volunteer hours on the auction we are holding now.

Please take a few minutes and look to see if anything might be a treat for you, or for a Bichon loving friend and make a bid! For the Bichons!  All My Love, Robin

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006

When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco’s “Humphrey”, I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
