A Word from Robin to Each of You!
Hi Everyone! We did it. In just a few days we have the 300 items needed in order to start our 2018 Holiday Auction. Thank you so much to those of you who put your items up. We are still accepting items throughout the auction, so it’s not too late!

I understand that one of you even went out and brought some Waterford Crystal Items, a pair of candlesticks and a beautiful bowl, just for this auction.
(Does anyone have any Danbury Mint items that they just don’t put out for Christmas anymore? Maybe one of the Danbury Mint Trains? If you aren’t using them, please consider letting them be used for the Bichons!)
I wanted to tell you all why we have these online auctions, twice a year.
If you wanted to pay retail price for any of these items, you could probably go online, or on Ebay to find them, new or used.
The amounts you are bidding for these items, isn’t really about the value of the item.
It’s about the value of the lives of these Bichons and their medical needs, We pay those veterinary bills in order for them to become healthy, so that they can be adopted, to give and receive love from a human being for years to come. To people like you.
Just like the precious Bichons that you have adopted, someone else stepped up. Someone you may not even know. Someone you may never even meet, and yet they gave of their own money, in order to save the life of your adopted Bichon.
For someone who has only seen a picture in a newsletter, a medical diagnoses, and the location and phone number of the veterinarian who is caring for the dog, to go online and send a donation for their care. It’s just so amazing to me.
It’s the circle of life, and it goes round and round.
To me, that is just a miracle.
Sometimes, it a donation of five dollars. And to that person, five dollars is truly sacrificial giving, and those small donations always touch my heart.
Some of you have been blessed to be able to give more and our gratitude is immense. Please know that!
So when you bid, please don’t think of the value of the item itself. Think about the spay or neuter you are providing. Think about the quarantine from shelter diseases that you are covering.
Think about those precious, darling black eyes who think that YOU are the best thing to have happened since sliced bread, and how someone else once helped them.
Now other Bichons and Bichons mixes need help. I come and tell you about SOME of them.
(If I told you about all of them, you would run down the street, screaming at the top of your lungs, in your black nightgown, don’t ask me how I know, but I digress.)
If an item is something you can use or gift, please be as generous as you can with your bids.
Remember, each bid gets us closer to saving more lives.
Thanks for listening, and thanks for sticking with us through thick or thin over the past 20 years.
Our volunteers and donors are the best I’ve ever seen in any animal rescue charity.
