Elvis' Teeth Braces!

(Elvis was adopted locally in Tulsa so he could return to Dr. Russell weekly for his braces to be adjusted.)

(Ladies and Gentlemen, Elvis has now left the building and gone to live in a loving home!)

Our Tulsa vet, Dr. David Russell, is very interested in doggie dentistry and has attended numerous dentistry seminars on the east coast.

9 month old Elvis came into rescue with a severely distorted set of teefers.

His bottom teeth were so off center that they were about to be putting holes in the roof of his mouth. YOWSER!

Many other rescue groups would have had to consider either pulling all of his bottom teeth or as this condition progressed, maybe even euthanasia.:(

Dr. Russell doesn't charge us for these elaborate dental treatments, meaning root canals, caps, (yes we have one with silver caps on his canines!) and braces.

He charges us only the cost for a single extraction.

"The bottom canine teeth are hitting the hard palate when the mouth is closed.This is painful and will eventually destroy the bone and tissue on hard palate leading to a hole connecting the mouth to the nasal sinuses."

"Upper canine teeth have been moved back. Now an appliance will be installed to move lower canines into proper position."

"This is a passive orthodontic appliance that will move lower canine teeth out and forward so they won’t hit hard palate."

Elvis got his braces off today! Look at the finished product! His teefies are straight now and won't cause further problems!!
