Robin,
Melody has Legg-Calve-Perthes disease in her righthip joint. This has caused the head of the femur to fracture. It is a geneticdisease that causes the degeneration of the head and neck of the femur. Thetreatment of choice is a femoral head and neck excision. With the surgery, theprognosis is excellent to good for a full recovery. She should probably beplaced in a foster home as soon as possible following
the surgery because shewill need to stay active and physical therapy exercises will be needed until sheheals.
I estimate your cost with surgery and anesthesia will be
around$400.00. We have scheduled it for next Wednesday morning. She was spayedtoday.

This is Melody's Hip X-ray.We need to raise funds for her and find a foster home that can help with herphysical therapy needs. She is presently in Tulsa, Okahoma.
