Thanks so much for
all of your kind words
about little Jazz,
whom we lost to distemper.
We spent around $1400.00 trying to save him.
We don't have funds to pay this yet. This
was before we knew it was distemper.
He didn't present
with some of the most classic
signs, so the vet
thought we could maybe
save him and did
we ever try.
Sadly, it was just not to be.
As you know, we have
another little one who's
vet bill is going
to be around $1500.00 for
bladder stone removal
surgery and a badly
needed dental.
We have two new matching
donation challenges
for little Benjamin!

Meet Benjamin. Benjamin
is 8 years old and
we learned that he
will needed bladder
stone
surgery. He had a
stone in his bladder
and
two small ones in
his penis. He is
at the
New Haven Ct Animal
Hospital and he also
needs a dental. The
cost of the xrays
today
was $200. The estimated
cost of the bladder
surgery is $1200-1500
and the dental is
$300-450.00.
The hospital will
extend a 25% rescue
discount
on the estimate.
I wish I had better
news!

Robin,
I'm issuing a matching
challenge for $750
for Ben up in Connecticut.
We adopted a little
girl from Small Paws
four years ago who
needed
dental and bladder
stone surgery so
we're
issuing this in honor
of our little Chloe,
who has taken our
love for these little
fluffs
to a new level. She
is so sweet, and
we want
a wonderful family
to see how sweet
Ben is.
Any denominations
will do to match
this challenge.
Let's relieve Ben's
pain and give him
a new
life!

And we have this challenge from Jane Robinson
in Arizona. Thank you Jane!

Hi Robin
I’m so very sorry to hear about Jazz. I had
hoped that his outcome would be the same
as Miracle’s. If you remember, she also came
down with distemper after being taken to
the local pound when she was thrown out of
a car. But she survived it and is a happy,
healthy little girl these days. I’d like
to make a $200.00 challenge on her behalf
to help with Benjamin’s vet bills. (My first
Bichon was named Benny and he too had bladder
stones including one in his urethra. Ouch!)

That's where we are right now! All My Love,
Robin

Our little old man
Peanut who is 13
years
young was just diagnosed
with a bad heart
murmur. He has less
than 6 months. He
is
in no pain and was
given some meds to
help
his heart push the
blood all the way
thru
instead of backing
up.
I know he's had a
great life, but 13
years
seems so short for
our little man.
Any prayers would
be greatly welcomed.
Thank you.

Paws Rescue
We had him for the last five years, He is
very obedient normally when we say "stay"
he will stop wherever he is, so some times
we are used to play with him in the yard
for he loves to run around the yard in circles,
during that time we did not put him on the
leash, this particular day he was not on
leash and did not yield to the command when
he saw some dog across the road. It took
off so suddenly the on coming driver did
not have time to stop the car. That is how
it happened.>

When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought
it was truly the epitome of what we do, and
why we do it. I wanted to use this black
and white picture of Humphrey, taken only
days before his death due to congestive heart
failure, to let those who may be new to Small
Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known
love. He would have died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
