Gem of the Day: "The world is full of suffering, it is also
full of overcoming it."
~ Helen Keller ~

Four year old "Brinkley" came into
rescue this afternoon, in South Texas, as
a medical emergency. He has eaten something
he should not have eaten. They believe it
was a sponge. His former owners waited six
days for it to pass and their veterinarian
told them that it is now critical and he
needs surgery now, or he will die. Sadly,
they couldn't afford the surgery and they
have surrendered him to Small Paws. Please
pray it isn't too late. Our South Texas Team
Leader, Sindy Parsons, (sindy@sindyparsons.com)
picked him up and rushed him to the hospital.
Details below. Help is needed to save his
life.

His kidneys are trying to shut down and they
are trying to rehydrate him overnight before
they put him under anesthesia, so he can have surgery in the morning to
remove this foreign body from his intestines
before they perforate.
This is more about
this particular kind
of
surgery.
The estimate for all of his blood work, x-rays,
further testing and the surgery is for between
$2500.00-$3000.00. HELP IS NEEDED.
I am here and will issue all matching donation
challenges for little Brinkley.
We need to raise funds for this surgery.
As you know, January is slow following the
Holidays. Help is needed.
All My Love, Robin

To all the SPR Ebay
customers and to
all
who have donated
items, I want to
say a big
“Thank-you!” After
many years of running
SPR Ebay, I am retiring
from that position.
I am not retiring
from SPR however
and will
continue to support
the great efforts
of
all involved in this
wonderful organization.
I sincerely hope
someone will step
in and
take over SPR Ebay.
I spent about 12
hours
a week with Ebay.
That time involved
taking
pictures and listing
the items on Ebay
and
of course, there
is the time involved
in
shipping to the buyers.
I am no Ebay expert
and whoever takes
over
may find a quicker
way to get things
done.
My suggestion is
to take good quality
digital
pictures showing
different angles/views
of
the item.
In the listing, make
your description
as
clear as possible
giving complete information
in regard to size,
color, etc. Also,
keep
in mind that you
need an area to store
the
items until they
sell.
I would be willing
to communicate via
email
and try to answer
any questions that
the
new person might
have in the beginning.
Running
SPR Ebay was for
me a fulfilling experience
and I encourage someone
to give it try.>

Subject: Re: Small
Paws Rescue
We had him for the last five years, He is
very obedient normally when we say "stay"
he will stop wherever he is, so some times
we are used to play with him in the yard
for he loves to run around the yard in circles,
during that time we did not put him on the
leash, this particular day he was not on
leash and did not yield to the command when
he saw some dog across the road. It took
off so suddenly the on coming driver did
not have time to stop the car. That is how
it happened.>

Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought
it was truly the epitome of what we do, and
why we do it. I wanted to use this black
and white picture of Humphrey, taken only
days before his death due to congestive heart
failure, to let those who may be new to Small
Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known
love. He would have died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
