Gem of the Day: "To sit patiently with
a yearning that has not yet been fulfilled,
and to trust that, that fulfillment will
come, is quite possibly one of the most powerful
"magic skills" that human beings
are capable of. It has been noted by almost
every ancient wisdom tradition."
~Elizabeth Gilbert (born 1969) Author~
3 Year Old "Piper" has a possible
forever home with one of
our members in Ferndale, California. The
problem now is getting her there from Oklahoma
City. She can't fly in a plane alone because
she can't balance herself.
Is there anyone who has flight privileges
who could fly her in the cabin? She needs
to fly into Medford, Oregon.
We also have new
matching challenges.
Please

This is a video of what it looks like when
she walks.
Online Adoption Application
This is another video of her.
We thought we had a home for her with one
of our previous adopters
in Arkansas, but
it has fallen through.
Now, we need to find
a way to get her
from
Oklahoma City, OK
to Ferndale, California.
The nearest airport
is in Medford Oregon
and it seems to be
one of those places
you
can't get to from
here.
Flight times are
running 12 hours one way
with three connections.
We either need to
find a way to get
her there
or to find another
adopter who is easier
to reach.
She is not incontinent and will be on no
medications.

Dear Robin:
Monty and Duffy would like to wish Chipper
a happy 15th birthday! And issue a challenge
of $100.00 to help the Chicago Bichons and
the 3 that had to be re-homed (how sad, but
it can happen so fast!)
It was very difficult
to read about Chipper's
health problems and
how many times he came
close to leaving
your family but only YOU
could make me laugh
at the image of a loving
Bichon owner carrying
her precious fluff
into the ER as he
almost died in her arms,
your description
had me laughing and crying
at the same time.
I'm so glad he is doing
well and that you
took up the Bichon Cause!
And, of course, that
we got our precious
boys from SPR!! What
a generous portion of
love and pure joy
they have added to our
lives. Thank you
and Bless you, Hugs, Jeanne>
And from Sherry Keller,
we have this challenge.
Thank you Sherry!

Robin,
Please don't give up completely on the hard-to-place
dogs. Zoe became my hospice foster dog when
her needs made her unplaceable. I can't even
begin to find words to express how much I
loved her and how much joy she brought to
my life for those two years. Please issue
a $75.00 challenge in memory of Zoe.

Paws Rescue
We had him for the last five years, He is
very obedient normally when we say "stay"
he will stop wherever he is, so some times
we are used to play with him in the yard
for he loves to run around the yard in circles,
during that time we did not put him on the
leash, this particular day he was not on
leash and did not yield to the command when
he saw some dog across the road. It took
off so suddenly the on coming driver did
not have time to stop the car. That is how
it happened.>
![](http://www.smallpawsrescue.org/newsletters/images/humphrey.jpg) Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought
it was truly the epitome of what we do, and
why we do it. I wanted to use this black
and white picture of Humphrey, taken only
days before his death due to congestive heart
failure, to let those who may be new to Small
Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known
love. He would have died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
