It's been an exceptionally busy weekend here
at Small Paws.
We have an emergency Hit By Car one year
old Bichon that came in, in North Texas,
this morning and I'll tell you about him
in a moment.
But first, we have some matching donation
challenges for little Charmer.
As you know, we have
a little 12 week
old
male Bichon puppy
with a broken front
leg
who needs surgery.
![](http://www.smallpawsrescue.org/newsletters/images/charmer1.jpg)
Baby "Charmer" is 12 weeks old
He is at the
North Houston Veterinary
Specialists
1646 Spring Cypress
Road
Spring, Texas
He will be having
surgery today by Veterinary
Surgeon, Michael McFadden, MS, DVM, DACVS.
These are our matching
donation challenges.
For those of you who are new to Small Paws,
what that means is this .
If anyone is able to answer one of these
challenges, the amount of the challenge will
be doubled because the challenger will also
make a donation in that amount.
Your donations are
kept private. No one sells
or shares your private
information and your
credit card donations
are done securely.
So these are our matching challenges for
little Charmer's broken leg surgery!
First, from Sherry
Keller, we have this challenge
for $250.00. Is someone
can match Sherry,
we will have $500.00
towards Charmer's surgery!

Well, Saturday or not I'm here and sending
a $50 matching challenge for Little Charmer.
I pray they can repair that leg and he goes
on to live a most wonderful life. He's the
same age Bungee was when I first read about
him on Small Paws and was blessed to adopt
him! Love, S>
And Mikal Jones, who knows the power of prayer
as he has been so critically ill, and has
lived to tell about it, sends in this challenge
for $50.00 for Charmer! Is there anyone who
can match him?! Thank you Mikal!

Hi Robin,
I just spoke with
Louie and made a
$50.00
donation to help
that precious little
boy.
I would like to issue
a challenge to everyone
who has fostered
and or adopted. I
thank
God everyday for
Small Paws Rescue
and the
joy and love we receive
from all of our babies!
We currently only
have Asta as his
brothers
and sisters have
all crossed the rainbow
bridge. I know money
is tight for everyone,
especially during
the holidays, but
if it
were not for people
who made donations
we
would not have Asta
looking at us with
those
loving eyes.
Warmest regards,
Mikal, Rick, and
Asta>
And Kathy Harris
has issued this challenge
for $25.00! Thank
you Kathy!

Then, if that isn't enough, in Mesquite,
TX., in Northern Texas, this baby was seen
being hit by a car on Friday. A police office
saw him being hit on a very busy road and
stopped to help.
This little guy had crawled under a bush
and the policeman coaxed him out and took
him to the shelter.
One of our volunteers saw him posted online
today and our North Texas Co-Team Leader,
Pauline Narog, went to pick him up immediately.
She drove him to the Colleyville Animal Clinic and Dr. Wilson is removing that dead eye
now. It is out of it's socket and has been
laying on Sebastian's cheek since Friday.
It is dried and dead and must be removed.
He is in surgery right now and we don't know
what else is wrong just yet.
His liver value is very high and we don't
know what is causing it right now. His teeth
are very white and he is estimated at a year
old, so we will need to do some testing and
probably get him over to the Internist after
we get him comfortable from that terrible
eye injury.
Then if that wasn't enough, we took in a
pregnant dog from a South Texas shelter last
week.
We moved her up to Vicki Furstenburg in North
Texas for foster care and whelping.

Libby and her babies.
Well, this small little girl delivered TEN
babies on Saturday
night.
Sadly, one of them
weighed only 3 OZ., and
she lived only about
30 hours.
We named her Angel
and now she is with the
Lord of Lords and
the King of Kings and she
is alright now. She
knows she was loved.
Well, that's what's going on here at Small
Paws rescue on this eve of New Year's Eve,
2013.
All My Love, Robin

We had him for the last five years, He is
very obedient normally when we say "stay"
he will stop wherever he is, so some times
we are used to play with him in the yard
for he loves to run around the yard in circles,
during that time we did not put him on the
leash, this particular day he was not on
leash and did not yield to the command when
he saw some dog across the road. It took
off so suddenly the on coming driver did
not have time to stop the car. That is how
it happened.>

When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought
it was truly the epitome of what we do, and
why we do it. I wanted to use this black
and white picture of Humphrey, taken only
days before his death due to congestive heart
failure, to let those who may be new to Small
Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known
love. He would have died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
